During Saturday’s game in Cleveland, Kizer tallied 7.5 total tackles (6 solo) and a 49-yard interception return for a touchdown. Through Week 3, the seventh-year player is tied for second in the AFL with two interceptions and he is fifth in the league with 17.5 total tackles. In addition, Kizer’s 64 career interceptions, rank third in the AFL’s all-time leaderboard.
This is Kizer’s fifth time earning the “Riddell Defensive Player of the Week” award. He received this accolade twice in 2011 (Week 3 and Week 19) and once in 2014 (Week 19). Kizer most recently won the award last season after he had two interceptions and nine tackles in the LA KISS’ Week 12 overtime victory against the San Jose SaberCats.
This week, the LA KISS will travel to Orlando to face off against the undefeated Predators on Saturday, April 23rd at the Amway Center. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 pm (PST).
