Today, LA KISS announces that ESPN and the AFL have finalized a multi-year agreement with the rights to broadcast at least 10 regular season games on its television networks per year in addition to the ArenaBowl and one conference championship game. CBS Sports Network will continue as the AFL’s primary broadcast partner, televising an extensive schedule of games. Together these two broadcast partners will yield more nationally televised games on more platforms than ever before.

“The partnership between the AFL and ESPN bolsters the credibility of this incredible sport and League as a whole, commented Schuyler Hoversten, President of LA KISS. “The emergence of LA KISS into the largest media market in the Arena Football League paired with unprecedented TV coverage will help fuel the continued success and growth of the League.”

LA KISS is the newest team in the AFL, founded in partnership between rock legends Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS and AFL veteran, Brett Bouchy and entertainment mogul Doc McGhee. The team’s home games will be played at the Honda Center and will feature exhilarating, high scoring football action that is highly affordable. LA KISS will champion the fusion of professional football with cutting-edge entertainment to create a live experience that sports fans have never seen before.

“We couldn’t be more proud to announce reaching a deal whereby LA KISS games will be broadcast on a premier sports network like ESPN,” says Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, part owners of LA KISS. “CBS and ESPN are each synonymous with the gold standard in sports programming and we see these alliances as continued steps in our goal to make LA KISS synonymous with the gold standard in the Arena Football League.”

The deal between the AFL and ESPN revisits a relationship that began more than two decades ago when ESPN televised the very first ArenaBowl live in 1987. Beginning in 2014, this new deal will see more than 85 total games broadcast annually on the ESPN family of networks including both broadcast TV and online streaming video. ESPN’s video player will also be available on the AFL website, www.arenafootball.com, where fans of the LA KISS can catch their favorite team in action even on the go. The complete schedule of 2014 AFL games on ESPN will be announced at a later date.
